Thank you for visiting Callicoon Chinooks. We are a small kennel located in the Western Catskills region of southeastern NY state. Our five dogs are an integral part of our lives. Each of them is an individual, with their own strengths, weaknesses, likes and dislikes, just like people.
Our kennel name comes from our foundation dog, CH ‘PR’ Pippa Passes Callicoon. She was named for a creek in the Catskills, near Chuck’s family farm where we live. It is one of the most beautiful places we know.
We focus on breeding healthy, happy family pets with the structure, drive and attitude to be versatile working dogs. We strive for the strength, stamina and congeniality of the historic Chinook; qualities that modern dogs can demonstrate in sledding, weight pull, agility, herding, tracking and obedience.

Hello Maria,
We are on the short list for a male pup via Kathy of Bashaba Chinooks. We met with Penthea of Great Mountain yesterday and met her pack of dogs. What a great bunch of dogs, the breed is everything we were looking for. All of your puppies are gorgeous! We just wanted to let you know that we appreciate seeing the updated photos.
